For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river…

Isaiah 66:12

The Bible says that “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven…” Ecclesiastes 3:1

There are good times and there are bad times. There are births, and there are deaths. There are marriages, and there are divorces. There are friendships that pass, there are families that become estranged. And there are also times that seem so happy and prosperous that we forget that our life “is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away…” James 4:14

The Bible tells us to set our affection on things above, not on things of the earth because the more things we have, the more we have to lose. But there is a way to have that peace like a river that endures through all seasons of life.

“the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

Deuteronomy 31:6

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want…. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me…”

Psalm 23

We receive the peace of God when we place our hope and trust on the Lord Jesus Christ, and him alone. When we do this we stop leaning into our own power and cleverness and start submitting to his plan for our lives.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9

It is that simple, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:9

Once you place your trust in the Lord Jesus he will be with you always, “even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:20

He promises never to leave you nor forsake you and all his thoughts and desires toward you are for your good. I hope that you will consider these things and call upon the name of the Lord for salvation today.
