Holding the Truth in Unrighteousness

In John 18:38, Pontius Pilate asks, “What is truth?”

Truth is a set of universal and everlasting laws that can never be defeated or denied, though men will always try.

There is only one God and one everlasting set of laws, which come through our Lord Jesus Christ. Proclaiming His name is to acknowledge absolute truth in the universe.

There are some who refer to his, her, or your truth as if the laws of God could be changed to suit our every lust and desire. They deny their conscience thinking it's virtuous, but in reality it leads to death.

Our conscience is the connection to God. Some of us follow it while others split off into the ways of the world.

For those who are lost, there is always time to acknowledge absolute truth and to come back to God. For those of us whose souls are saved, it’s our duty to defend truth until our deaths.

If we hold the truth in our hearts and souls, then we have a duty to follow the laws of God, rather than directions from fellow mortals (i.e. governments, experts, media).

But if we hold the truth in unrighteousness, and attempt to justify our actions, then we should expect to receive God's wrath in the end. This is the death of the soul.

It's never too late to repent.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness…” Romans 1:18
