Old Testament Salvation = New Testament Salvation

“Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering has thou not required.”

Psalm 40:6 clearly states that old testament works, such as sacrifices and offerings, were not what the Lord desired. This verse is directly applicable to old testament saints and serves as an excellent example for Christians today.

Old testament laws were written to guide a disobedient, stiff-necked people, in hopes of teaching them the ways of God. But without full trust in the Lord, these works of the law were worthless and did not please the Him.

The Lord is consistent through the old testament, the new testament, the present day, and for all of eternity. Salvation is through faith alone and no one, of any racial or religious background, is justified by their works at any point in time.

There is no other way to salvation, but through faith in Jesus Christ.

Amen.
