Purging Out the Rebels

“And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me…and ye shall know that I am the LORD.” — Ezekiel 20:38

“…take heed lest he also not spare thee.” — Romans 11:21

What gets lost in the noise of Christian Zionism is the clear warning of scriptures given to those who profess to know the Lord but in works deny him[1]. Paul tells us that the calamities that fell upon Old Covenant national Israel are written for our admonition[2]. Drunk on cheap grace, the modern church has forgotten that the LORD will judge his people.[3]Lest we dismiss these words as “old” testament, Peter says that “judgment must begin at the house of the God,[4]which is the heart, mind and body of the believer.

The Vision of Ezekiel. Francisco Collantes

“If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy, for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”[5]

When we look at the state of American Christianity we see the signs of a field ripe for harvest. Like Old Covenant Israel the modern church is abounding with unscriptural worship, false doctrine, heresies, covetousness, sexual immorality, and a casting off of the scriptures and word of God. Evil men and seducers wax worse and worse[6] among us.

If God was willing to whet his sword against Israel[7] we are told not to boast in ourselves or be high-minded but fear[8]. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God[9].

They are not all Israel, which are of Israel,[10]and neither are they all Christians because they say they are.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” — Revelation 20:15
